Samara has been physically active ever since starting competitive gymnastics at an early age. After several series injuries Samara found herself striving for a more holistic and integrative type of movement. Samara was searching for different ways to evolve the body and mind together when she found Ashtanga Yoga. She was drawn to the difficult physicality of the practice but embraced all meditative and mindful aspects of the Ashtanga Tradition. She completed her 200 hour training at Grateful Yoga in Montpelier Vermont and began teaching in the Dominican Republic. Samara, who is an aspiring physician assistant, loves incorporating the foundations of Ashtanga into her Vinyasa flows. She loves the universality of yoga and has worked hard to broaden the yoga community by teaching adults with intellectual disabilities at her full time job.
Samara received a BA in French and anthropology from the University of Vermont. She loves to be outside hiking, swimming and biking but always appreciates a rainy day with a good book. She is so excited to continue her journey here at Honor Movement and share her love for yoga and movement with the community.
