Danielle Gismondi

Trained in 2006 at Om Shanti Yoga with Lillian Leon, Danielle then taught through college and continued her training in 2010 with Jennifer Yarro of Frog Lotus Yoga. Her classes are meant to be functional for all types of practitioners, as they are layered and multi-tiered.  She brings in elements of of the yoga sutras, functional anatomy and Hindu mythology to deepen each student's experience.  Arriving to Portland in June 2017, she hit the ground running, excited to serve her new community with compassion, enthusiasm and attentiveness.  She hopes to create an atmosphere where ambition is replaced by curiosity and her teaching style has been described as “intuitively-paced, respectful of all bodies, playful, judgment-free, and exuberant.”

Danielle has been an educator in both public and private schools and is also a Women’s Circle Leader for The WILD Woman Project (www.thewildwomanproject.com) as well as a facilitator for WILD WOMAN FEST (www.wildwomanfest.com).  As an educator for many years, she loves to combine her yoga experience with her expertise in childhood development for classes and workshops for families and children.  She was inspired to strengthen her hands-on assists and completed Thai Massage Levels 1 and 2 as well as Hands Free Thai with Jennifer, and has assisted the summer Teacher Training program at Frog Lotus Yoga. She is continually honored to be able to serve as a friendly guide in all of these capacities and looks forward to learning from you, too!  Also, if you make it to class, ask for the very ancient pose called hug-asana. You won’t regret it.
